Customer Service Inspections
Customer Service inspections are required by TCEQ in order to protect the public water supply from contaminants that can be caused by cross connections and/or backflow. We also look for lead material used in plumbing system which poses a health hazard.
Under Texas law—30 TAC 290.46(j)—a customer service inspection is required for each connection before continuous water service can be provided.
Backflow Assembly Testing
The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) requires testing of all backflow-prevention assemblies at installation by a TCEQ-licensed tester. Backflow-prevention assemblies installed to protect against any health hazard must be tested annually. A person who repairs or tests the installation or operation of backflow prevention assemblies must hold a license issued by the TCEQ. Backflow prevention assembly testers are qualified to test and repair assemblies on any domestic, commercial, industrial, or irrigation service.
